ANTIQUE PICKARDROSENTHAL HAND PAINTED FRUIT ART NOUVEAU 8.5” PLATE 1905-1910 Signed on front by Artist H Tolliel DESCRIPTION: Handpainted porcelain china in the Art Nouveau design decorated by an artist of the Pickard Studios, Inc. in the early 1900s. The plate is signed on the front next to the fruit design by the artist in gold. There is a doubled circle gold gilded center surrounded by another gold gilded double circle border with apples, peaches and grapes . All the fruit pieces are outlined in gold paint, even every grape is outlined in gold. The green leaves around the border also have gold painted outlines. The border is peach with a Gold gilded geometric accents throughout the piece. CONDITION: Excellent, no chips, cracks, or crazing. The fruit designs are in perfect shape. There is no wear of gold gilding on the border design and center rings and little wear to the gold gilding on the edge of the plate. SIZE: 8 5/8 inches wide SIGNED ON FRONT by ARTIST: H Tolliel BACKMARKS PICKARD DECORATOR - Overglaze decorating mark Mark 5, 1905-1910. This was the first backmark of Pickard Studio used at the Ravenswood Studio MANUFACTURER: Underglaze Green Backmark, Rosenthal with a crown and crossed swords Bavaria I AM HAPPY TO REDUCE SHIPPING COSTS FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES IN THE SAME BOX.
