Antique Carved Walnut Picture Frame with an inner Gold Gilt Stenciled Fluted Cove Design. This one is a beauty in its condition and with its partial 19th century Frame Manufacturers Label on the reverse side which states: ???GHT, BROWN & CO. ???? MANUFACTURERES TROY, NH. We would guess that it should read WRIGHT, BROWN & CO. T are additional pieces of information written and labeled on the reverse, one which is a very old piece of brown like paper, perhaps tape on which is written M302 over 600, perhaps a price. Wriiten in cursive in pencil along a bottom back edge are the words, A 1/2 fret hollow insides fluted. The mitred corners of this beautiful Frame are held together with old style square headed nails. The wood, gold gilt, and nail heads have obtained a patina that cold only have come from the aging of a 19th century Frame. The measurements are approximately 15 by 18 inches overall, 10.31 (10 and 5/16ths) by 13.31 (13 and 5/16ths) inches art sight from front, 11.12 by 14.12 inches art opening in back. Frame measures 2.18 inches thick. The carved walnut portion of the frame is done in long chamfers on both inner and outer edges, half rounds approximately 3/8ths wide on both inner and outer edges, and smaller sweeping paired grooves carved out on the front flat surfaces.
