Antique Piedmont Cigarette story card series. The cards were in a box lot of hard cover books we bought at an auction. This is not our specialty so we will use the information on the cards. The card series is about Rip Van Winkle. T are a total of (7) cards. The cards are cardboard. The fronts are colored detail of the Rip Van Winkle story. The backs of the cards are printed with a title and part of the Rip Van Winkle story. All of the cards include an image of a package of Piedmont cigarettes on the front. T is nothing that indicates any date or printing codes. The wording on the back states that t are 10 pictures in the series so t are 3 missing. The seven are: Chapter I The Catskill Mountains Chapter II Rip's Home Life Chapter III Rip at the Old Inn Missing Chapters IV and V Chapter VI Rip Among the Gnomes Chapter VII Rip Falls Asleep Chapter VIII Rip Wakes Up Chapter IX Rip's Return to the Village Missing Chapter X All of the fronts of the cards are in very good+ condition with the exception of the scene with the River Boat & Sailboat. The front shows light soiling in the sky, back mountain and the pack of Piedmont cigarettes. The cards measure 5" wide by 8" high. The back of the cards show light aging. Overall condition is good+.
