Up for auction is this vintage pitcher and bowl wash set, a "must" item in every bedroom, hotel or boarding house room, before the advent of running water. The pitcher stands 12 inches tall, and is 9 1/2 inches across from spout to handle, while the bowl is 5 inches deep and 14 1/2 inches across. The base color of the pair is a creamy, gray off-white, with a nice medium green trim. The bowl, or basin, has plumes around the bottom collar and medallions on all four sides; the pitcher has four fleuerettes spaced around the neck, with incised petals below that circling the pitcher. Each piece is in wonderful shape with no detectable cracks, or chips, but t is age crazing in the glaze. A small amount of the green paint shows wear w your thumb would rest on the handle, but otherwise is in great shape. T is no sign of a maker's mark, or country of origin on either piece. Each piece is large, and the bowl is rather heavy. Due to the fact that this is in such fabulous condition, I must put a modest reserve on this piece.
