Item : Up for auction is a hand painted plate by LIMOGES . This is an antique plate. It is all hand painted with a raspberry and black berry design. The berries are interspersed with white and pink flower blossoms as well. It is soooo pretty! Provenance : This comes out of an estate sale in NYC of a wealthy woman who lived on the upper east side of Manhattan . Please check out my other auctions for great deals on ceramics, porcelains, and studio glass. Age : early 1900s. In the late 1800s in the United States , it became fashionable for upper class women to pain on porcelain dishes. Schools and classes sprang up all over the country to feed this huge trend. It was seen as the appropriate thing for a woman from a good family to do. As every girl wanted to be a âeoewoman from a good familyâe, many women took up this past time. Condition : Perfect. No chips, scratches, hairlines cracks. Hallmark : printed on back LIMOGES Country of Origin : FRANCE . Measurements : 9.5 inches across. PAYMENT IS BY PAYPAL OR MONEY ORDER ONLY!!!
