Antique three piece tea or possibly a coffee set in silver overlay made in Bavaria, it's the fanciest set I've ever run into so I decided to try it, the pot is 11in. to the top of the finial 8in. to the top of the pot itself, all three pieces are very elegant looking with birds sitting on branches and rushes, the matching creamer is just under 6in. high and the sugar bowl is a little over 5 1/2in. to the top of the finial, all three pieces are in perfect condition and don't look to have been used very often, unfortunately there are no marks on the silver and I do see a couple of wear spots so I'm assuming it's somehow plated I have no idea how, each piece is marked on the bottom (see photo) and I can't find refrence to the company but whoever they were they were good, I've spent an hour or so polishing the pieces as they were black but they could still use a little more, if you collect silver overlay or just want to impress your friends at you next get together this will do it, you're bidding on all three pieces and it is guaranteed to be old.. Hi! I just wanted to share addtional info regarding the set you have on auction. It was made by Hertel, Jacob & Co. Rehau, Bavaria founded in 1906. Addional description can be found on Worthpoint if you search for "Hertel Jacob Bavaria silver overlay". The exact set was featured. Silver overlay " Deusch" established in Schwabisch Gmund near Stuttgart. Friedrich Deusch was a silver medalist in Bordeaux EXpo for his silver overlay porcelain work and a gold medalist in world expo in Belgium. The set on auction is truly a an oustanding piece of art from this company. Good Luck with your auction. Best regards.
