Up for auction is this antique porcelain 2-sided flange Barber Shop sign that reads...HAIR BOBBING..LADIES & CHILDREN. This sign is in great condition for its age with just a few chips in the porcelain and some light scratches and a few spots. It measures 24 1/4" x 12" and is the usual red, white and blue stripe. Both sides are in super nice condition. At one end of the sign there are 2 mounting holes and the flange area that measures 2" has 4 mounting holes. I will take many pics for you and also describe the very slight damage to this sign. On one side there are several small chips in the dark blue border at the bottom. In the white lettering there are a few very slight scratches and pinprick spots. Above the E in children's there is a round circle-type scratch and also another small circle scratch in the top mounting hole area. On the reverse side there is one chip in the porcelain in the bottom dark blue border area that measures 1" x 1/4". Also a few small spots on the main part of the sign and in the diagonal white stripe above the N in children's and the S also there is some light beige paint residue. I was able to get quite a bit of it off by rubbing gently and I am pretty sure that the rest or at least most of the remaining paint will come off with careful attention. A bit of wear and smudging is also present in other areas of the blue border...but quite honestly the sign looks and displays great!!! In the flange area on the outside there are 2 chips in the porcelain. An unusual and fairly rare sign being offered in excellent condition with No Reserve!!!!
