This is a truly gorgeous Royal Vienna Portrait Urn / Vase with lid. It has an ivory background accented with heavy gold trim. It has two beautiful portrait scenes on the front. T is a hand painted portrait scene on the front top and a portrait scene on the front of the pedestal base. The portraits of lovely ladies and cherubs have fantastic color and detail. The portrait scenes are framed with raised small beading and ornate designs. T are different shapes also framed in the raised gold beading, in cobalt blue and dark mauve. The dark cobalt blue color reminds me of flow blue, as the color flows around the design. Most of the cobalt and dark mauve shapes are covered with gold flowers and rosettes. T is a light gold small flowered pattern over the ivory background. The urn has ornate open handles. The underneath side of the lid is marked in gold lettering, Royal Vienna Patent 22983. The inside base of the urn is also marked Royal Vienna Patent 22383, near the metal connector that attaches the top the base. It is also marked on the inside edge of the pedestal base with the same mark. It has a cobalt blue A mark on the inside pedestal and two mauve circles, as pictured. This beautiful urn and lid is in good condition, with very minor flaws. T about three very small (1/8th inch or less) nicks on the bottom edge. One is on a corner. T is a tight hairline on the underneath side of one handle. I am not sure if it is glaze crazing or a tight hairline. When looking at the urn with a magnifying glass, you can see glaze crazing pretty much all over the porcelain. T is some fading in the gold pattern, but the gold becomes brighter as the urn is turned, indicating some fading is light reflection. The handles show some gold fading. This is a true antique and can be expected to have a few minor flaws. The urn is about 16 1/4" tall to the top of the lid finial and 13" tall, excluding the lid. It is 8" across, from handle to handle. The pedestal base is about 5 1/2" by 5 1/4" and 4 3/4" high. A magnificent 19th century Royal Vienna Urn / Vase!! Questions welcome. I accept money order, check and cash. I do not accept Paypal. Please email for shipping and payment details. THANKS FOR VIEWING MY AUCTIONS AND HAVE FUN BIDDING!
