Primitive lovers should not be without a nice, old mangle board! We have a pretty rare one up for bids in this auction and t's no hidden reserve. This mangle is carved from a single piece of wood and has a terrific, original patina. One side is completely smooth while the other has 22 carved ripples which show plenty of wear from use. In the 19th century, mangle boards were typically used in combination with wooden rods to smooth wrinkles out of fabrics. They were also used for scrubbing clothes clean. This particular board is more interesting than most because of the curve it has! Most mangles are straight. Along with is nicely carved handle, this board has been worn smooth in places and is a beautiful, primitive item! Excellent for display on the wall, in a trencher, in a copper boiler, or even as part of a museum exhibit. The winning bidder adds $7.90 postage. Good luck!
