's a real nice farmhouse find for serious collectors of country antiques! This is a rare, one-piece wooden butter churn in excellent condition. Unlike staved churns, this one was carved and hewn out of a log. It dates back to the 19th century and is very well-preserved. T are two, forged iron rings that were meant to keep the churn from cracking or splitting. It still has its original fitted splash cover and dasher stick. The surface shows lots of age and the wood has a wonderful patina with rich color. This rustic butter churn measures a total of 28 inches high when including the dasher stick and 20 inches tall without it. The diameter of the top is 6 3/4 inches and the churn widens to 8 1/4" at the bottom.
Unlike a staved churn, this one will not loosen up or fall apart in dry settings if it's not regularly used or wiped down. It is a museum quality antique that came right out of an old home and will be ready to add charm to your home after a little clean up. A great Christmas gift for somebody! The winning bidder adds postage or picks up at our Western New York-area location. We have a large inventory of country antiques including trenchers, spinning wheels, Good luck!
