This is a great old antique wood neck yoke for young oxen. Used as a training yoke as it is smaller in size than the regular yokes. The main wood portion is hand hewn made of an oak or hickory and is 34-1/2" long, 3-1/2" wide and in very good original condition with a wax finish except for one end which has been cracked and has an old repair with a screw made of wood. The iron link was used to hook to the cart (tongue) hitch and is hand forged - has great old patina and measures 3-1/2" diameter. The neck yokes are in good condition make of oak with some old chipping and splitting on bottom bends. The neck yokes are kept in place with small hand made wood keepers with a leather strap. These yokes were used to pull wagons in the U.S. and Europe from the early ages until the early 1900's. Great for country or any display. Please see my other primitives up for auction and in my store. Thanks.
