NO RESERVE for this Wonderful and Folky one-of-a-kind Child's High Chair. This child's chair is a great piece of Folk Art that will be a wonderful decorative piece for your collection. This high chair, dating from about 1850, has wonderful old red paint. The patina is just beautiful, especially on all the arms and back, worn from much use by many children over the years. T is a wonderful heart in original blue paint in the middle of the back of the high chair. The chair was painted a mustard color over the red at one time. Most of the mustard was removed at some time. You will see some of the mustard color in the pictures, particularly underneath. All the paint is original. This high chair has been used extensively during its 150+ years of life. All the wood is original except for the seat bottom which is a very old piece of painted wood, the tray and foot foot rest are worn away and t is a small wood chip above the left arm. The high chair is still structurally strong. T has been a very interesting repair made to the chair. Shoe cleats or taps were added to the arms and back for additional strength by some resourceful father long ago, two on each arm, two smaller ones on the back, adding to the folky-ness and charm of this piece. This high chair was most likely handmade by a father or grandfather for a new child, who took extra time to make it special and unique. It is truly one of the sweetest child's high chairs we've seen. The high chair is 35 inches tall and 16 inches wide at the bottom. Please look at all the pictures to see the condition and beauty of this wonderful piece of functional Folk Art Americana.
