Antique Primitive Pie Safe/ Jelly Cupboard
You are looking at a pre-1900's pie safe. The pie safe is made of old wide wood boards which are now almost impossible to find. I am unsure of the species of the wood, but the piece is solid with no rot. This piece is a primitive style piece with imperfections that add to it's character. I originally had this in my dining room being used as a sideboard but have since replaced it with a piece that fits better in the spot. I have owned it for about a year and purchased it at an antiques market. The dealer said that it came out of an old farmhouse. The doors have screening which has most likely been replaced over the years. The hinges and locks have also been replaced, probably some time in the 50's. The color of the piece is a weatd gray, with some of the original green paint showing through in spots. The measurements of the piece are 40.5" high x 56" long x 16" wide. It is a great piece of furniture that would add a lot of character to any room that it is placed in. Please note...this item is a pick-up only. I will not arrange for shipping.
