Acquired at the estate of prominent health professional, everything he had was high-line. This stagecoach chest is no exception. Measures 21" x 13" x 9 ½" tall. We did have some doubts about the originality of the brass reinforcements at the eight corners, but after removing one - it seems they have been t long enough for the brass to interact with the wood and protect it from darkening - so they have been t for quite some time if not original. It is stamped with the original owners initials or name - looks like "LLOSS" or maybe "SCOTT" at top edge. T are more reinforcements at the side corners, gorgeous heavy-duty handles on each sideOther than the normal dings from wear and use, it is in great condition. The wood has not been touched or refinished. Thankfully, it has never been painted, never seen any wood filler, and has not been visited by the "paint spot genie." It has been well-cared for and it shows. A very lovely piece of furniture considering it was not meant to look at, but meant to go to work and take a beating. Shipping will be based on your location. Estimates as follows: west coast will be about $20, east coast will be $15 - $18, and those in the middle will be $13 - $16, depending upon how close you are to Illinois. Please do not confuse my low starting prices with a lack of quality - I am very proud of the items I list and wouldn't bother trying to sell them if I wasn't - I am just trying to make the bidding fun and fair, give my rescued orphans a new home, and save a few pennies in fees. I am happy to combine shipping if you buy more than one item within a week! Payment MUST be received within 10 days - I accept check or money orders. Paypal is not an acceptable form of payment unless necessary and is on a case by case basis. International bidders: please contact me before bidding as I have been having some problems lately and have had to block international bidding - bidding can be arranged if you contact me and have sufficient feedback. I hate to punish all foreign countries because of the evil-doings of a few bidders - so please do not hesitate to contact me. Insurance is optional for most items, required for breakable items - if insurance is not paid - I cannot be held responsible for my items once I have placed them in the hands of the USPS/Fedex should they get broken or lost and cannot issue a refund due to their mishandling. I will also not take responsibility for stolen items if signature confirmation has not been requested on items shipped by Fedex. This means that your item will be left at your home by the shipper if you do not want to have to sign for a package. For larger items, please allow extra time for packaging and delivery - especially items with glass or mirrors or cast iron. These types of items are particularly susceptible to breakage and require extra attention, care, and time when packing.
