This piece is absolutely FABULOUS! I purchased it last year at an estate sale. The antique print is entitled "Can't you Talk?" (1876) by the famous 19th century British artist,
George Augustus Holmes.
I do not know the exact year of this print, but know it predates 1909 (hand-dated print). I removed the back of the piece to confirm it was NOT a reproduction. It is a very heavy almost card stock material with "Can't you Talk?" below the artwork. The edges of the print are in very poor condition but you CANNOT tell that by viewing the framed piece. T are a few small imperfections (see photos), namely a few small holes by the collie's foot. It is, however, in remarkable condition for it's age. The print (framed) measures 12x15'', so it's a GREAT size.I cannot say enough about the antique frame. I think it's gorgeous. It is solid wood and dark, like cherry or mahogany. It measures 21.5''x18.75''. T are a couple of very tiny nicks (see photos) that would be easy to touch up, but I wanted to leave that up to the buyer.
I HAVE AN ADDITIONAL MATCHING FRAME UP FOR AUCTION AS WELL! IT HOUSES "DEED TO THE FARM" PRINT!Insurance is required on this item due to its value!
