Rare 9 antique printer comic strip wood with metal plates printing blocks with comic strip design. 2 of the blocks, 17 and 48, I mirrored the picture with my Paint Shop Pro App. so you could read the lettering on block # 48 and the number on block # 17. It looks like, Grand Opening First Production Was For Bank Busted, on block # 48 (see pic). And number 5548 on block # 17, bottom right hand corner (see pic). The # 39 block is impressed in wood end with # 244 and I.P.E.U. (see pic). Block numbers are 16, 17, 36, 38, 39, 42, 43, 44, and 48. Measurements of blocks, 5 blocks are 3 3/8" by 2 1/4", 2 blocks are 4 3/8" by 2 3/4", 1 block is 2 3/4" by 3" and 1 block 2 7/8" by 2 3/8". Great original old printing press comic strip blocks.
