Many years ago, I received this compelling Ceramic Tile from my husband for Valentine's Day, and what a unique Valentine, which has given me years of joy, not only to see this little guy in his gorgeous mulberry color, but to feel this tile with luster like silk complimented by the aged earthy back of tile. The antique dealer had told my husband that it is not easy to find a Putti posed from the back, which is another reason why this tile is rare. Well, I have looked for years, and only saw one other vintage tile with the cherub posed from the rear. Thus, this 18th Century Mulberry Tile of chubby winged cupid (Putti) is a true valentine. The glaze had a beautiful antique Luster. Measures 5" x 5" square. Tile is 3/8" thick. Other than SOME edge wear (as tile was originally on fireplace of an antiquity home), tile is in exceedingly good condition ~ bright and full of life. For Collectors of old Mulberry tiles and Collectors of Rare Angel tiles, this is quite a find. POTTERY TILE WILL BE SHIPPED FREE AND WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.
