Auction# 2 Antique Quartersawn Oak Doorway Casing (2 pcs) was salvaged from a turn-of-the-century estate home built in 1910. BEAUTIFUL OLD WOOD - YOU CAN'T BUY THIS AT HOME DEPOT! If you need more than 1 set - check out all of my other auctions - I have several other sets listed in different lengths! Measures approx. 98-3/4" overall height x 8-1/2" width x 2-3/4" crown. The thickness of the main part of this casing is 1-1/4". The home this was salvaged from was an architectural treasure. The home known as the Riley House (Thomas S. Riley) in Wheeling, WV, was built in 1910 by important Wheeling architect F.F. Faris. It was demolished in 2006 - but much of the fantastic woodwork was salvaged including dentil molding, crown molding, baseboard, wainscot, handrail, spindles, leaded glass transom windows, stained glass windows, pocket doors, cabinet doors and fireplace mantles.
