I have for sale in excellent condition, a beautiful late 1800's early 1900's large solid quarter sawn oak Victorian hand carved wooden shelf. This shelf is a most rare and beautiful piece, and it is large was many of the turn of the century wooden shelves you find are much smaller. This one measures 48 inches long x approx 9 inches x 9 inches. It was refinished many years ago as it was nearly black according to the antique dealer from which I acquired it. He got it on a buying trip to the East Coast back in the 1970's, and he was told that it originally came from Europe. It has modern day hangers mounted and inset into the back so it can be mounted very solidly to any wall. It originally had a wire to hang by, but it is much too heavy for that (the shelf weighs some 15 lbs) The workmanship in this shelf is first class, absolutely beautiful carvings and handwork, and the quarter sawn oak is stunning. It is a great piece that would fit in wonderfully into any antique oak collectors decor. It is finished in a medium golden oak tone, as it most likely would have been when first made. Shipping to the United States as well as to Canada. Buyer to pay actual shipping cost which would be figured at 23 lbs when packed, shipping from zip 57104. The shelf will be very well packed for shipment. Thank you.
