This is a gorgeous antique all cotton quilt that is both a string quilt, and a crazy quilt I believe. The fabrics are the most amazing examples of vintage feedsacks, and please look at all of the photos below (enlarge them too) to see some of these gorgeous fabrics! The colors are mostly pastels...of blues and pinks and some minty greens....and more! It's a neat work of art! This quilt is hand pieced and all hand quilted. The quilt is large, measuring approximately 90" X 92". It's a light/medium weight (most of the weight more from its size)....and the hand quilting is about 5spi. The batting is very thin and even. T are no lumps/ bumps, or funky smells. This lies flat. This is just gorgeous! T appear to be no holes on the front.....some small areas of wear. This does have a few age related issues....such as some seams that are pulling apart a speck (I am pointing to this), and one strip that popped (see these below again, as I am pointing to this too). Some are repaired already (nicely).......some are not. T is some dirt scattered and t and t are many small spots particularly on the back. This would do well with a good soaking. The worst of the wear and spots from the back is shown in a photo below. The back is muslin, and the binding is the muslin back pulled around to the front and hand sewn on. The muslin back has a very small repair (done by hand) and a few bits of fabric deterioration... not all the way through. T are a few minor repairs (all hand-done) that appear to have been done over time ......which is kind of neat. Despite some slight normal wear from a quilt of this age, it's truly a very beautiful quilt and would display quite well, open or folded. As you can tell from the photos, the overall condition is nice. Many of these fabrics are just spectacular!! I wish I could capture all of them for you! Good luck! Check out my other items !
