It has 5 Slats On Top, 3 slats on the front ,back & Sides a total of 17 slats . Newly finished Brass Hardware, Big button nails on every side even the back.The Dowels (Guides) on the sides are built into the handles this is a feature that tell you it is a well built trunk.. Eagle Lock With Working Key .It has its original bottom straps with buckles the top half of the strap is new since the top straps were missing. New thick leather Handles. The back has 4 large strap style back hinges. The old canvas was removed to expose the beautiful wood underneath very clean, no stains. I used only a clear polyurethane and sanded in between cost for a smooth surface. The inside was stripped and scrubbed clean. It has a inside tray .
