A BEAUTIFUL AND ALL ORIGINAL RARE LARGE MANS 1902/3 SOLID HALLMARKED STERLING SILVER WALTHAM MASS RAILWAY GRADE POCKET WATCH WITH AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING WHITE DIAL. FOR COLLECTORS IT DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS! CASE: This is a beautiful MANS SIZE stunning solid THICK STERLING English silver watch case. The case shines superbly after a light polish. The case back has some light wear to the engine turning, and a couple of tiny light dings. The beautiful, crisp engraved shield shaped cartouche to the case back has NO personalizations. The case is in lovely condition. The case measures a massive 5.4cm (54mm) In diameter excluding the crown and chain ring. The back cover is a snap back and opens well, and snaps to perfectly. It is nice and tight showing no play in it.. The inside of the rear cover is FULLY hallmarked dating the original A.L.Dennison watch case to 1903. The watch weighs 132.0 grams including the movement. DIAL: This is an absolutely stunning and near mint snow-white signed "WALTHAM" dial. It has a lovely sub second dial which is in mint condition. The golden steel antique spade design hands are also in excellent order. It has black hand painted Roman numerals which are in excellent condition with no wear whatsoever evident to the numerals which are majestically crisp and very sharp. The outer black hand painted minute track is also in minty condition. The dial itself is absolutely beautiful, with no hairlines that I can see, and just a few light very minute dirt marks only seen under 10x magnification.. This is a really lovely and brilliant white dial in excellent order. The mineral crystal looks original, and has some light marks. Pocket watches with this standard of dial are VERY rare to find!! MOVEMENT: This is A PRISTINE, stunning and fully signed RAILWAY GRADE jeweled lever movement. It is signed "AMERICAN WALTHAM WATCH CO" and "SAFETY PINION". The movement number is 10469442 dating it to 1902. T is beautiful damascened engraving all over the top plate and balance cock of the movement which is absolutely beautiful. It is finished to a very high standard, with a gorgeous golden regulator plate. The watch winds and sets with the crown. It winds and sets smoothly. The crown and the chain ring are solid silver. The watch runs and keeps good time, as tested over a 12 hour period, and as always would need a service for optimum time keeping and performance. WHAT A FANTASTIC FIND THIS ITEM IS!!!!
