I've been an AVID lantern collector for over 20 years now. I wouldn't even consider selling this one if it weren't for the fact that I've had one in my collection for over 16 years now AND the fact that my husband & I are in the process of building our final home so that's a priority right now. I came across this one at a GREAT price on a recent buying run & so am now offering it to you (at a GREAT price)! This lantern was made by the Embury Manufacturing Company. It would date to sometime right after 1911 because that is when William Embury moved his company from Rochester, New York to Warsaw New York. The lantern is embossed EMBURY MFG. CO. WARSAW, N.Y. USA" on one side & "No. 2, C.B. SUPREME" on the other. C.B. stands for "Cold Blast" as this is a Cold Blast lantern. What makes it so special is that both the "fount" (bottom that holds the fuel) & the wick holder is SOLID BRASS. Collectors like myself search & search to find the rare ones like these with either a copper or brass fount! Somebody did a WONDERFUL job of cleaning this up to almost NEW looking condition. It still has it's original wick.....NO holes or issues with the fount.......You could literally fire this thing up & use it instantly if you wanted! Collectors like myself will buy these even if they DO have any "issues". But this thing is as close to MINT as it comes.
