Antique Rare Vintage Federal Beacon Ray P olice light I believe this light was manufactured by Federal Sign and Signal Corporation in Blue Island, Illinois, USA. I have seen several lights similar to it on e-bay and it looks like a federal becon to me any way. If any one has any other ideas please let me know. The manufactures name was painted on the side plate and has worn off through the years. All I can read on the tag plate is the serial numbers and the model number and voltage. . I believe the model number is 278 the voltage is 12 volts DC and the serial number is 2M1B6. A very nice light in very good condition for its age. This unit has two lights inside that look like they say GE on the bulbs and they both work great. I have hooked this unit up and it works like new. The motor turns freely and gives you that feeling like you just done something very wrong. The entire unit works very well and would look great on any police replica car or in any collection. I found this light several years ago at a car swap in Kansas City. The fellow that I bought it from said that he took it off of a 1957 ford police car that was in a barn on a farm that he bought in Western Kansas many years ago.
