Up for auction today is a Working Antique RCA Tube Radio Model T-60, w/Tuning Eye . Complete with a fairly bright and sensitive tuning eye . Made in 1940 this beautiful BC/SW radio powers up like a charm with just a slight background hum. The solid and sturdy wooden cabinet is in outstanding condition for a 66 year old radio as can be seen in the many photos of this beauty. The radio is a true classic with the two toned wood and right front slide rule dial with left cloth grille and horizontal bars. The 6 pushbuttons are currently not set or functioning but the manual slide rule dial works. The four tuning knobs are all original and in perfect working order. The radio receives AM (broadcast) stations very well with just the short antenna wire but does require a long line antenna for shortwave operation as do all radios from the era. The dimensions are 16" long by 7" wide by 9 1/2" tall. This rare find can be seen on page 235 of Antique Radios Sixth Edition, by John Slusser. All tubes have been checked and replaced w needed (3 in all). The wooden cabinet is in Good Solid Condition with a beautiful deep two-tone grain finish that can be seen in the photos. This is one really nice radio so please check out the photos for a better appreciation of this fine collectable radio. I feel confident that this item will make a very nice addition to anyone's Vintage Tube Radio Collection. No one can be expected to be an expert at everything.
