Up for auction is a 1936 RCA Victor antique tube radio model 5T6 in a medium dark walnut cabinet with wrap around wood grill bars and a multicolor dial in Tenite escutcheon. This is a 5 tube AM/SW radio with four rotary controls for on/off/tone, volume, band selector and tuning .Band selection is indicated by a corresponding lighted pointer (see pictures) Radio was fully recapped, a ll tubes tested and replaced as needed. New dial lights, power cord with vintage plug and external antenna were installed. Chassis was cleaned and controls lubricated. Reception is good and clear. SW is more active late at night and may require outdoor antenna. Cabinet was cleaned, hand rubbed with Finish Restorer and coated with multiple layers of clear lacquer. Top was stripped and re-finished. There are some wood blemishes, finish imperfections and small veneer split (see pictures). New vintage reproduction grill cloth was installed. All original bakelite knobs are present and operate properly. Paper sticker is present.
