This RED CROSS Jr. Antique Apple Cider Press is a beautiful piece of equipment and works fantastic..If you don't use it for apple cider then use the buckets and press operation for wine grapes.. Manufactured by the RED CROSS Co. in Bluffton, Indiana. I purchased it at a flea market about 10 years ago and spent over 100 hours restoring it to wonderful condition.. I sand blasted all the metal parts and air brush painted them..Before I stripped the wood parts I traced the original decals.. Then I made patterns of them.. I refinished the wood parts and applied 3 coats of polyurethane for preservation.. Then I reapplied the stencils in their original colors.. The stencils on the apple hopper on top are all original and untouched by me..The patent date on it says November 29, 1921..It is a complete original, except for the restoration, including all the parts.. It has the two slat press buckets, the two wood pads they sit on, the wood pad for under the screw press and the wood handle for tightening down the press screw.. It measures 44" high x 36" wide x 24" deep including the wood handle on the turning wheel.. We used it several times in the fall in New York to make fresh apple cider.. All you need is a cheese cloth and a few bushels of mixed kinds of apples and you can make your own cider this fall. We are moving to smaller place and just don't have room for it... Email any questions before bidding please as winning is a contract to buy and pay within 7 days of my invoice.. NO PAYPAL on this one unless you want to pay their fee too.. Just a US dollar money order or Bank Check please.. Weighs about 125 pounds so PICK UP ONLY. I am about 1 hour north of Syracuse New York just a couple miles off Interstate 81.. After full payment I will store free until it can be picked up..This really nice antique has a Reserve price respective of its condition and uniqueness.. I cancel any bids at my sole discretion..Check my feedbacks so you can bid with confidence.. Sold as is.. Thanks, Good Luck and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
Several questions about the buckets.. They are original, with the slats for the apple juice (cider) to escape after passing the cheese cloth lining during the pressing operation.. The juice then flows to the end and into whatever container you place t.T are two buckets because, depending on how much help you have, you can be filling one with the grated apples through the machine and at the same time a full one can be under the press and someone turning down the screw.. An efficient operation at the time.. It is possible to remove about 12 nuts or bolts and the legs will come off the unit.. That leaves the drain board on the bottom and the top mechanism platform as individual pieces.. Easier to move if necessary.. OK--ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE ASKED--THE RESERVE ON THIS NICE ITEM IS $699.99.. GOOD LUCK!!!
