I just acquired this beautiful Redwork Quilt at auction and hope it will find an appreciative new home, as it is such a lovely piece and clearly it was a work of love. Each and every stitch was hand thrown, including the tiny tiny hemming stitches. The border is stitched in a what looks like a fish eye design. I am sorry that I do not know the correct terms for the designs but I will try to describe and hope my pictures show what is going on Included with the quilt are three hand written pages documenting that the quilt was a love quilt gift, for The Fiedlers, and signed by all who worked on it. T are sixteen blocks of design and the notes are divided into sixteen blocks and in each block are the names all the people who worked in that block. These same names appear on the actual 16 blocks of quilting and are signed in indelible ink, by the actual folks who did the work. This is a thin piece, a front and back of white cotton and the entire 77" x 74" is quilted. Weight of the quilt is four pounds. I fine no stitches undone or missing. The quilt is clean and free of discoloration or stains except for a couple very small pale stains on read more
