Antique Religious Medal:
Saint Mary Magdalen
This wonderful old medal was made in France in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is silver plated brass, measuring 5/8" (15 mm) in diameter. It depicts Mary Magdalene with an amphora (a jar used by priests to hold annointing oil). The reverse reads: Souvenir de la Sainte Baume (Remembrance of St. Baume). Mary Magdalene is buried in the oratory of St. Maximin la St. Baume, near Marseille.
