This auction is for an antique religious tapestry. Tapestry features a Renaissance Period Madonna, which is stylized after Da Vinci's 1484 Madonna, interestingly it is on canvas. This amazing portrait and surrounding embellishment appears to be a transfer to canvas but with the age involved, it is difficult to be certain. The outer edge of the canvas is bordered by silk embroidered trim and tassels. The top of the piece features three separate hanging tabs; one in the middle and one on each corner. The two corner tabs are obscured in the photograph by the holders keeping the tapestry flat for picturing. This fantastic piece, which has retained amazing detail with regard to portrait and color. The dimensions on this item are approximately 20 in. (w) x 36 in (l). Item is being sold in an as-is condition. This piece does bear some damage, thus the reason for the Best Offer option.
