Offered for your consideration is a Beautiful Pair of Antique Translucent Porcelain Bisque Wall Tiles framed in Pierced Ormolu. This pair depicts an Italian Renaissance suitor heralding his arrival on a white horse. There is a faint outline of a castle in the upper right corner of the tile. The second Tile depicts the Lovers kissing in an embrace. There are floral embellishments in the bottom of each tile showing flowers and leaves. The background of these Translucent Tiles is very pale green and the figures are white in low relief. The back of each TIle has the number 2178 and a number 39 impressed into the porcelain, there are no other marks. The frames appear to have been made for these tiles as they are held in place with metal holders at each corner, and there are several tiny flakes of gold paint that went awry. The pierced Ormolu frames are in excellent condition and have an acanthus leaf at each corner and the top has a laurel wreath. The center bottom of the frames have a floral and fruit drape design. There is a chain attached for hanging on the wall. One frame has the chain attached to circular loops and the other appears to have lost its loops and the chain is attached to the back holder braces.
