Up for auction is a wonderful antique lighting lot that is being offered by one of our consignors at our 6,000 Sq. ft. location in Brodheadsville, Pa.. All pieces are made by the Riddle Lighting Co. and we believe all should date back to the early 1900's. The 5 light Chandelier and 2 wall sconces are definitely a match and the other 2 wall sconces are not a match to the other 3 but only to each other. We will be describing each individually below to the best of our ability~please ask questions in case t is something that we may have missed or had forgotten to place. The first in the lot that we are describing is the pair of sconces that match the chandelier. They are very Art Deco, Victorian style. They are each in two pieces and each have 2 lights. The backside has the number 1816 for the top piece and the number 1817 for the bottom. The top piece measures approximately 6" high and overlaps the bottom. The bottom measures approximately 6 1/2", because of the overlap the total height is approximately 11". The width at it's most is 10 1/2". The wire connector is marked Leviton 660W-250, pat. IH5-27 and t is also Leviton marked inside the paper cap for the wiring in front. We are not sure if the paper candle cap is the original but it fits great and is in great condition as well. The matching Chandelier has 5 lights. The ceiling cap is numbered and we believe it is 1816, that was a little difficult to see. T is a decorative piece that connects from the chain (which we are not if it is original) to the next section that is not numbered. The next section is numbered 1717, which is w the chain starts. We did see a number on the middle decorative part of the chandelier which was 1810. This section has a wonderful look to it with the cascading pattern that is continual all the way around. The next section is numbered 1811 and this is w each comes out from. The uniqueness about the Riddle Design is how they continued the flow. If you look closely you will 5 points that come down through the latest mentioned section to give an even more 3 dimensional look to it. All of the paper protectors are in wonderful condition to make restoration easy. T is some original wiring in this piece but the wiring is suggested to be done over and updated. And finally the piece that is remaining has a decorative Arts & Crafts look to it. It is surprising that it is still complete with the chandelier and has not been lost. With this attached it bring the total length of the piece from the edge of the ceiling cap to the tip of the tassle approximately 33"~this could easily be adjusted with the chain. Each arm for the lights come out approximately 9" from center the total diameter is approximately 18 1/2". Finally the second pair of sconces which could easily match even though not exact are one light each.We believe the numbering on the backside is 1088 but cannot be clear on this one. They measure approximately 7 1/2" long and 4 1/2" wide. They are not as ornate but still have a distinct victorian look to them. We could not find any flaws to the lighting listed above. The lights have been brought to their base metal due to the fact that a previous owner had so many layers of paint the current owner thought it would be better for restoration for the new owner. We do also suggest that all new hard wiring be done. We would like to add to this auction that we do try to describe to the best of our abilities on the items that we receive from our consignors and vendors.
