NO RESERVE for an over-the-top Antique European Sterling Silver Serving Spoon, all handmade and incorporating a pastiche of decorative elements, including a Lion bearing a Standard, a Maiden, a Cherub, a Dove, Flowers, Faces, Swags, Scrolls, etc. Measures about 9" long and weighs about 3 ounces on my kitchen scale. Hallmarked on the back, but the marks are too rubbed to read. It is probably Continental Grade Sterling (80% silver) and most likely Dutch or German. An old estate piece fron a very good Dallas estate and with defiintely considerable age. I would date it to about 1870 - 1890. MINT condition on very careful and honest inspection with NO damage of any sort, including NO pings, dings, dents, disfiguring scratches, missing bits, etc. Design very crisp and detailed, not worn down. Straight and true, not out of shape in any way. The pics are very honest and show the condition well and you will not be disappointed in the condition of this spoon. NO RESERVE and a nominal start and the pics tell the rest of the story. IMPORTANT NOTE: The handles of these forks are are plain silver, but the **bowls are gold-washed**. Not sure how they will look on your monitor, but the bowls definitely are gold washed in real life. My understanding is that this is so that they can be used (if desired) for the serving of ice cream with fruit pies and other similar desserts. Thanks!
