This box is over a 100 years old. It is made of oak wood and is in very good condition. The back of the box is solid with no holes and original wire to hang on wall. The statues of Mary and Jesus (Pita) are very beautiful and t is two angels on the stained glass at top which are very lovely. At the bottom is a picture of the Last Supper. Both top and bottom of the stained glass is very nice. The items that were in the box were a communion spoon with a cross on it, t is a silver communion plate, a oak wooden crucifix with Jesus in silver, t is a very beautiful St. Josephs Sunday Missal Imprimatur, Cardinal Francis Spellman, D.D. Archbishop of New York and also enclosed were two prayer cards. T also is a very beautiful pair of rosary beads and a smaller black crucifix. Many catholic homes had these boxes in their homes as shrines and kept their personal religious items in them.
