This is a beautifully made rosewood small truncheon, I assume it was a police one in its day and i believe it dates back to about 1900. It has a finely ribbed grip(with a hole for the strap) and a ring-turned top. It measures 8 inches in length and is very weighty for its size. There are some rubs to the surface (see pic 3) from use, but there are no chips or cracks. Rosewood is a very expensive hardwood, and this item is not like most "everyday" truncheons found on ebay now. A quality piece of memorabilia not to be missed. Offered at a low start and no reserve.
