The telephone being offered for auction has been painstakingly restored and made completely operational once again. If you purchase one of our telephones and are unhappy with it, return it to us within 30 days for a complete refund. at WE-CO, we have been collecting telephones for three decades and have between three hundred and five hundred vintage and antique phones on hand. We have only recently started selling some of our fine telephones to the public, on ebay and privately.
For auction with a reserve of $350.00, is a carefully restored Western Electric B1 model 102 round base desk phone that was manufactured in the late 1920Â's. This model telephone succeeded the very rare Western Electric AA-1 model of 1926 and preceded the Western Electric oval base 202 set of 1929. Our phone makes and receives calls and rings on incoming calls sounding like a real telephone should with a melodious telephone ring not found in todayÂ's modern phones. This phone has been disassembled, cleaned, repaired and adjusted to become fully functional once again. We have attempted to retain as many original parts in this telephone as was practical thus showcasing our 75-year-old telephoneÂ's character and saluting the bygone craftsmanship of Western Electric . The original factory paint was simply too far gone and was replaced with a professional quality epoxy reinforced paint that closely replicates the original finishÂ's color, luster and durability. The brown cotton covered cambric handset and mounting cords have been replaced with new top quality factory fresh stock. The dial is a Western Electric number 4 (clickety click) with a near pristine metropolitan (numbers and letters) Â"ZÂ" type dial face and an original style perforated number card; the early Â"EÂ" handset has that distinct 1920Â's sound and features an early type Â"bulletÂ" transmitter plus early type transmitter and receiver caps . The 684 subset which was then and is still necessary for the proper operation of this type telephone, comes with about eight feet of cord between it and the phone. The subset is also equipped with a Â"modularÂ" mounting cord and RJ-11 plug for easy do-it-yourself hook up. If youÂ're looking for a great old collectable phone that has been sensitively restored, look no further. New owner pays USPS shipping and optional insurance fees on this very nice and quite collectable Western Electric classic. |
