ANTIQUE: 19th Century- ANTIQUE ROYAL DOULTON, FLOW BLUE PLATTER, MADRAS This exquisite platter measures 15" x 12.5" . It was made by famed ROYAL DOULTON and the name of the beautiful pattern is MADRAS. The background is a milky white and the pattern is stunning flow blue. This is an old plate from the 1800's . CONDITION IS EXCELLENT!! T are NO chips, cracks, flakes, crazing, etc. It's in remarkable shape. T is only the smallest repair around upper rim, black repair, looks professionally repaired. T is no wear showing in the center pattern or on the floral border. Please look closely at photo and you'll see the wonderful condition. It is offered with NO RESERVE! Additional Information Regarding mark: The coronet was probably added to the earlier mark c. 1886 to mark the appointment of Henry Doulton as 'Potter to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales' (later King Edward VI 1), ENGLAND was added underneath after 1891. This mark continued in use until 1902. It appears to have been used instead of B.3 especially on bone china products and on the more expensive earthen wares. A simplified version showing only the coronet on a flat base and the word DOULTON was also used. Up for Auction is one of the many Unique Treasures found in lost storage boxes packed in 1979.
