This is a beautiful antique porcelain figural! A fine quality circa middle 19thc, RoyalVienna Austrian group modeled as a lady and a gentleman involved in some trading transaction on the imaginary market. Besides ,there are three well modeled geese in the composition – two large ones end the little one…The man is selling the geese, the lady is about to give him some coins for the chosen bird or two. The figures are well modeled with great detail and finely hand painted in vibrant colors enriched with gold gilt accents here and there .The clothing of the man is of typical Austrian or South-German, Tyrolean type .The woman is dressed into 18-19 th century dress decorated with colorful florals in front. The gold trimming on the base is typical for Austrian pieces, the group is marked with so called ”Beehive” under glaze with cobalt blue, which is in reality the coat of arms of Austro-Hungarian Empire. Date of manufacture : 19 th centyry, Austro-Hungary. Measurements : 18 cm high and 17 cm wide and 11 cm deepat the base.Heavy for its size : weight – 970 grams Condition : Great ,the thumb of man’s right hand is invisibly restored by professional.
