Up for bid is this STUNNING Antique Church Statue of the Ascended Sacred Heart Jesus. This RARE & OLD Icon came from a small Chapel in upstate New York. It originally hung on the inside of a Confessional, and could have easily been viewed by a parishioner repenting during the Sacrement of Reconciliation or Penance. The Risen Christ is made of solid Brass that was gilded. Most of the Gold has since fallen and the metal has oxidized to a mellow and aged patina. It is mounted on a plank of Solid Oak that has too turned burnished with time. This FINE Example is quite EXQUISITE with Beautiful detailing throughout! I have had this piece appraised, and the auction estimate has been set at over $400.00!!! The statue measures 6.5" Tall x 4.5" Wide & the Wood it is mounted on is 9.5" Tall x 5.5" at the widest base. This was acquired by my Grandfather in the 1890's and he has cherished it and honored it with the utmost care!
