is a beautiful 19 th century painting of Saint Barbara being crowned Saint, as the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove looks on. Cannon-fire is represented coming from the castle on her right, but she is not afraid, as she calmly looks up to Heaven. This painting was found recently in a storage room of the Carmelite Convent of Ayacucho, Peru , along with several other paintings that the nuns have decided to consign to us for auction. We had this painting restored and due to the condition of the outside edges of the old canvas, new strips of canvas were installed beneath and around its edges to facilitate its mounting by the winning bidder. The painting is not signed. The size is 17.5 inches long by 14 inches wide and is definitely a museum quality piece that would make a wonderful gift, especialy during the Christmas season for anyone in the Armed Forces.
