Stunning Antique Sarouk northwest Persian rug; circa 1890; LOOK! A truly beautiful and rare Sarouk rug. Northwest Persia ; circa 1890. Size 191x135 cm or 75.5"x53.5". An impressive abrashed blue central medallion dominates the fieldof the rug. The medallion is surrounded by typical sarouk floral branches. The design is slightly asymmetric, which adds more charm to the rug. Wool pile and wefts and cotton warps. Stunning natural colours brilliantly combined, soft wool, thin and fine weave. Condition: Excellent overall. The pile is uniform low, there are no repairs. Only a few missing knots from the upper and lower ends. Otherwise original condition. Please see the photos. Quite a magnificent piece. Will post worldwide.
