Item No. 7674 We do not know if this is silver plated or nickel plated (probably silver), but it has a nice shine (can be polished to a brighter shine) and a beautiful patina. In a very ornate, curvacious, scrolling leaf pattern, with three footed arms for candles and a striking handle-top. About 10-1/2" tall 7-1/4" from arm-to-arm, holders about 3-1/2" from tabletop, holders themselves slightly less than 1" diameter. The base is marked by impression, "W. & S. B." for W & S Blackinton Company, a company started by two brothers in 1865. They originally manufactured gold jewelry in Meriden, CT, but after a fire moved to Providence, RI. They became incorporated in 1901, moving the business yet again to Attleboro, MA. In the 1930s, they were purchased by the Elmore Company. We place the circa date of this piece about 1890-1910.
