This lovely antique scalloped pie plate decorated in the classic Quimper design, depicting a petit Breton dressed in his traditional costume, and surrounded with a floral motif, was created in about 1905. It is signed HR Quimper 5 on the reverse, and except for some edge wear on the sponged blue rim, and the typical manufacturing glaze skips, is otherwise in flawless condition. The foot has been pierced for hanging, the piece measures 7.5 inches (18.75 cms) in diameter, and it will make a unique and beautiful addition to any collection. This design with the scalloped edge has been very sought after in the last century. Few were made and even fewer survived. The plate itself is very solid, and somewhat heavy, but the edges present a hazard. Many of the edges have broken over the years. The fact that you have an opportunity to own 2 flawless plates is pretty amazing. Yes, we have another. If you would like a photo please notify us.........
