ANTIQUE SCOTTISH SILVER IONA CELTIC SWORD/SHIELD BROOCH GP&S (George Panton & Son) On offer is this impressive antique silver Celtic Iona sword/shield brooch from 1930's Scotland. The circular shield is decorated with celtic knots, using designs made famous by Alexander Ritchie (1856-1941). The brooch bears the makers stamp of GP&S (George Panton & Son) and although there is no actual silver mark, it has tested as silver. A sturdy, solid piece with tube hinge, pin and 'c' catch to reverse, in good working order. Measurements: 2.75" by 1" (at widest points).
