ANTIQUE SESSIONS BIM-BAM CLOCK MOVEMENT

USED IN ANTIQUE SHELF CLOCKS

Sessions Clock Co, Forrestville, Conn.

This is a SESSIONS 8 day time & strike mantle clock movement used extensively in turn of the century tambour mantle clocks. This model is a " Bim-Bam" Chime Movement has all of its gears and internal levers, but the regulating arbor and suspension stud assembly is missing. It needs a thorough cleaning, as well as a pair of mainsprings. Although the fly/governor is missing from the photo (it was in the bottom of the box it came in) - I will include it with the movement when I ship it. One mainspring is broken and the other is rusty, and if you remind me at the time of the sale - I can supply you with two serviceable, but used 8 day mainsprings.

Do not dismiss the importance of having a Sessions movement on hand. Those of you who have worked on movements - know full well of the time period that Sessions, and Ingraham, and to a lesser extent Gilbert went through when they were using Steel Plate movements. The steel-on-steel action caused severe wear on the pivots - oftentimes necessitating major repair or replacement. Rather than taking the time to face-off the badly worn pivot, and then have to chuck it in a lathe with a steady-rest to center-drill it - why not have a spare movement on hand to simply replace the worn part. It will save you tremendous time and expense to have spare gears on hand.

Movement is sold as-is, and capable of running with serviceing, or simply use for the spare parts. This movement would typically be used in a tambor style clock with two chime rods for the "Bim-Bam" chimes, but the gears for the most part would most likely also interchange with a kitchen-clock (Gingerbread) movement also.

WYSIWYG. Good for parts or restoration. If having these on hand saves you the cost of having one gear made - that will pay for itself very quickly.

I can ship via USPS Priority, with the option of Insurance. Multiple like-purchases can always be combined to save you costs. No charge for packing, and only actual shipping/insurance (if desired). No BOGUS "Handling Charge"!
