CRAZY COLLECTOR ALERT!!! I'm that crazy old guy who collects a little bit, or a mountain, of everything. You are bidding on or purchasing: AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BRYCE HIGBEE GLASS ICE BUCKET AND 6 DRINKING GLASSES SET, "OLD OAKEN BUCKET" circa 1890's, PERFECT CONDITION COMPLETE SET COLLECTIBLE BAR OR KITCHEN WARE. ORIGINAL EARLY AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS "WOODEN PAIL" SET offered as acquired from estate household. Photographed with 12 ounce soda can to show relative size; glasses stand about 4 1/2" tall and look like they should hold about 10 ounces. Entire set is designed to resemble slatted wooden pail construction, with the 5 1/4" tall ice bucket even having molded straps holding the slats like an actual staved barrel. These pieces are not marked but I know from my collecting experience and my glass references that this set and pattern were produced by Bryce Higbee in the 1890's. It is EXTREMELY RARE to find a complete set with all the glasses in place. The hammered aluminum bucket handle is made to be removable for washing, and you will usually not find it with the handle still in place -- in close to 40 years of collecting, I have NEVER seen this set with six matching glasses, and I'd wager you will never see it again. Condition is magnificent: NO noted chips, cracks, flakes, edges or flaws of any kind. Won't last long at this price, so what are you waiting for???
