<< BEAUTIFUL SET OF CHINESE POT DE CREME >> Canton - late 19th c / early 20th - from a Gentleman's estate >><< 6 porcelain blue and white pot de creme with lids with fruit/ floral top finial A charming set - it is often hard to date Canton exactly as it continued to be made in the traditional manner and with quality painting into the 20th century. Much remains still unstamped into the 20th regardless of requirements. Wonderful twisted handles (The modern interpretations are completely different from these old ones ) These have the ring base characteristic of 19th c forms. Most are in VG clean condition. One cup has 2 tight old cracks as shown another a minute firing crack just at the rim but only pointing out as a common imperfection not an issue at all. There is nice variety in the different hands that painted these which speaks to the popular production and export for the West. You could use these for a variety of desserts and as teacups and they display very well ! H. 3 in.
