ANTIQUE Seth Thomas CRYSTAL REGULATOR TABLE / MANTLE CLOCK 12" Tall * Base - 7 1/2" x 6" x 2 1/2" Tall * Glass Case - 6" x 4 1/2" * Top - 7" x 5" x 1 1/4" Tall Weight - 12 1/2 Pounds Offered for sale is a genuine SETH THOMAS EMPIRE # 13 CRYSTAL REGULATOR CLOCK. It was builtin 1907 in Thomaston, CT and is in perfect running order. It has an eight-day fine round movement and half-hour rack strike that emanates the sound of a cathedral bell. This clock is one of the most elegant and stunning antique clocks of its kind to be found. It is classic Art-Deco style. The glass sides encase the intricate bronze movement and 4" porcelain face on all four sides. These are the original beveled glass inserts, held in place by thin, vertically scalloped and scrolled brass columns. It opens on both the front and back sides with exquisite pocket-hinged doors. The porcelain face is perfect - no crazing, stains, etc , and has a simple design of tiny pink flowers/green foliage sprays that are inside and concentric to the Arabic Numbers . Each spray seems to curve around each numeral on the face, forming a subtle starburst - so elegant! This Seth Thomas antique has simulated mercury in a glass pendulum. The gold and copper finish is beautiful and has never been re-plated. Over the years, the clock has developed a lovely patina and can proudly occupy a place of prominence in the home or elsewhere. The elegant brass base and top, which have beautiful and intricate detail on on four sides are stunning by any measure. The brass features a classic Art Deco shell design with lots of flourishes and embellishments. Please see photos . This is a wonderful piece for the discerning collector or homeowner. * * * Includes original brass winding key ( see 1st Photo) There is a very small scratch on the top surface - it is hardly discernible and not deep at all - you can barely feel it, but in certain light angles, you can make it out. This will be well packaged in lots of bubble wrap and a heavy box. It will include insurance.
