's a beautiful Seth Thomas Adamantine Clock with Superior Movement. It was made somew around 1890's - 1900. I believe the model name is "Mexico". It runs great and keeps perfect time. It has a wonderfully shaped case which measures 16-1/2" long, 11" high and 6" wide. It has four full columns with Corinthian capitals decorated with a decoupage rose motif. This is exactly the way it came out of the factory. All the ornamental metal including the bezel and the feet appear to be gilded brass. The face is enamel over copper and measures 4" across. It is marked Seth Thomas and t is a speed control above the 12. It is surrounded by a solid brass egg and dart bezel. The face has a couple of faint hairlines, barely detectable (see picture). The clock also has really nice feet with mythical animal paws as well as nicely embossed back feet. The works are marked "ST" inside of a diamond which has a circle around it, with USA underneath. It is also marked with the number and fraction "3-15/16". These works are of very high quality, not the average Seth Thomas mantle clock movement, and is known as the Superior Movement. It has a lovely sounding gong which marks the ½ hour and counts the hour. The pendulum is original to the clock. Unfortunately, I could not find the key that belonged to the clock, so it is being sold without a key. The clock case is solid and is in overall good condition with the exception of a couple chips in the adamantine finish, one being above the face (see pictures). It appears t might have been a piece of ormolu t at one time. Also, the decoupage scene under the face has some damage and needs to be glued. I will leave this to the winning bidder. It wouldn't take much effort to make this already beautiful clock top notch. TERMS OF SALE: Please ask any questions you may have before bidding.
