ANTIQUE SEVRES HANDPAINTED SIGNED PORCELAIN URN PAIR Antique Sevres Handpainted Signed Porcelain Urn Pair. Each bolted urn in this beautiful matching set features a scene of a courting couple. Notice how the colors of their outfits are reversed on each urn - on one she wears pink & yellow and he wears blue & white - on the other urn she wears blue & white and he wears pink & yellow. Each is artist signed "Maur". The cobalt urn makes the gold encrustation stand out. The intricate mounts are composed of bronze. Each urn is 13" tall without the lid, 14 3/4" with. The urns are 6" across at widest. Each is marked inside the lid with "France" and "Chateau de Longpre." The base of each urn is marked "France" as well. I am not a Sevres expert but believe these to be from the late 19th Century. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs.This pair of beautiful urns are fresh to the market and were purchased from a local estate w they have been carefully taken care of and protected inside a china cabinet for the last 30 plus years.
